The Sonsaz hunting reserve is a hunting and wildlife reserve created in 1973 in the Ayllón mountains between the Spanish provinces of Guadalajara and Madrid. It covers an area of 68,106 hectares and is bounded to the north by the border between Guadalajara and the province of Segovia, from the Cebollera Vieja rock, through the Lobo and Buitrera peaks, to the Puerto Infantes pass; to the east, it follows the courses of the Lillas and Sorbe rivers to the Pozo de los Ramos weir; to the south from there to the Vado reservoir and from there to the Atazar dam; and to the west, following the course of the Riato River to the Porrejón pass and from there along the Cebollera mountain range, following the watershed between the Lozoya and Jarama rivers, to the Cebollera rock.

The reserve is dominated by small game hunting of red partridge, rabbits and hares, and big game hunting of wild boar and, above all, roe deer, the most abundant in all of Sonsaz and whose number of heads has grown exponentially since the creation of the reserve, and for which controlled hunting is organized through public competition.
